For most short-notice moves we can usually confirm a crew and vehicle within 24 to 48 hours. Same-week removals are routine. Same-day moves are sometimes possible, depending on what is already booked that day, so call the mobile line rather than sending a form.

What Is and Isn’t Possible at Short Notice

Usually possible within 24 to 48 hours:

Flat and small house moves (studio to two bedrooms)

Three and four-bedroom family homes, which need a bigger crew and often a second vehicle
Full packing of a whole property. Same-week packing is often doable. Next-day packing of a large house usually isn’t.

Not possible at short notice:

Council parking suspensions. Glasgow City Council and Renfrewshire Council need advance notice, usually two to three weeks. On a rushed move we plan around existing parking instead.
Guaranteed Friday or end-of-month slots, which are the most heavily booked days of the month

Does a short-notice move cost more?

You still get a fixed price before move day, with no hidden extras. The price depends on property size, distance, access and services, the same as any other move. What short notice really limits is choice: fewer available slots, and less time for packing on larger properties.

What if my keys aren’t released on moving day?

It happens a lot in Scotland, especially on Fridays. Because our storage is in our own Johnstone depot, we can take everything into secure storage the same day and deliver once your keys are released. That stops a delayed completion from turning into a lost day.

Can you pack my house at short notice?

Often, yes, but it depends on size. A flat or a fragile-only pack can usually be fitted in within the same week. A full pack of a large family home needs more lead time. If time is tight, we’ll tell you what’s realistic so you can pack the rest yourself.
