Packing Services: Choose How Much We Pack
Not everyone needs a full pack. Most of our customers pick one of three levels.
Full pack
We pack the entire property, usually the day before your move. Kitchen, wardrobes, books, ornaments, the loft and the garage. You keep out what you need for the last night and the first morning, and we handle everything else.
Part pack
We pack the kitchen, the fragile items and any rooms you choose. You pack the rest yourself in the weeks before. It’s the most popular option for family moves because it takes the slowest, riskiest packing off your hands.
Fragile-only pack
We pack glassware, china, mirrors, artwork, TVs and other breakables. You pack everything else. A good fit if you have the time to pack but don’t want to risk the expensive or sentimental items.
What Our House Packing Service Includes
Every pack uses our own materials, and they’re included in the price:
- Double-walled cardboard boxes in sizes matched to the weight
- Wardrobe boxes with hanging rails, so clothes go straight from rail to rail
- Bubble wrap for glassware, ornaments and screens
- Packing paper for wrapping and filling gaps
- Tape, and clear labelling on every box with room and contents
- Padded covers for sofas, mattresses and TVs on the day of the move
You don’t need to buy anything yourself. If you’d rather pack some rooms on your own, ask and we can drop off boxes and materials ahead of time.
How a Packing Day Works
- Survey or call. We confirm property size, the rooms to pack and any specialist items.
- Fixed quote. Packing is priced alongside your removal, so you see the full cost in one figure.
- Packing day. For a full pack, the crew usually arrives the day before the move. Smaller packs can often be done on the morning of the move.
- Labelling. Every box is marked with its destination room, so unloading goes straight to the right place.
- Move day. The same crew loads, transports and places every box in the room it’s labelled for.
What Packing Costs Alongside a Move
Packing is added to your removal quote, not sold as a separate job. Typical ranges, taken from our Scotland removal costs guide:

The figure depends on how much there is to pack and how long it takes. A kitchen-only pack in a two-bedroom flat takes far less time than a full pack of a five-bedroom house. Every quote is fixed, with no extras added on the day.
Packing for Tenements, Flats and Older Properties
Much of the work in Paisley, Johnstone and Glasgow’s west side is in traditional tenements: narrow shared stairwells, no lift and on-street parking. That changes how we pack.
- We pack in an order that cuts down the number of trips on the stairs
- Heavy items like books go in small boxes, so they’re safe to carry down narrow closes

- In period properties, we protect banisters and door frames while carrying large items out

Packing Into Storage
If your move-in date isn’t fixed, we can pack, collect and take everything into our secure indoor storage at Victoria Works in Johnstone. What Our Packing Service Doesn’t Cover
- Clearing lofts, garages or sheds of junk. We pack what’s moving, not what’s being thrown out. Sort these areas before packing day.
- Taking items away for disposal. We don’t remove rubbish or unwanted furniture.
- Hazardous items. We can’t pack paint, fuel, gas bottles, aerosols or chemicals.
- Valuables and documents. Keep passports, cash, jewellery and medication with you.
- Unpacking at the new property. Unpacking isn’t part of a standard pack. Ask when you book if you’d like help at the other end.
